THE TICKET NEWSLETTER
During my time at Tripadvisor, my team produced incredible, wanderlust-inspiring content, but struggled to get it directly to readers. When people think “Tripadvisor,” they think of hotel reviews and tour packages—not travel journalism. That’s how The Ticket came to be.
Email is one of the last ways we can connect directly with our audiences. Each subscription is an invitation into their world.
Launching this project was no easy feat. It was the first editorial newsletter produced by the company’s CRM team, and the first time our teams collaborated on a major project, requiring buy-in and patience from both sides.
I led weekly production, curating a roundup of our best travel guidance, managing media assets, and strategically testing content placements, subject lines, and headlines.
I developed workflows and process guides that aligned editorial and marketing stakeholders. I also worked closely with our design team to create the template.
The Ticket consistently earned an open and click-through rate above 30%, and attracted sponsorships from Hertz, the Palm Beach Tourism Bureau, and more, making it one of the most successful newsletters in Tripadvisor’s email slate.
THE LUNAR NEW YEAR GUIDE
This package was inspired by my time living in Asia. Typically, holiday content for Western audiences is centered around Judeo-Christian celebrations, but Lunar New Year is the most traveled holiday in the world. I oversaw production from pitch to publication, onboarding and assigning writers, managing timelines and edits, working with our art department to solidify a visual identity, and even building each story in our CMS.
CONTENT CURATION
As Tripadvisor’s Editorial Production Manager, I was responsible for programming content across the TA universe: landing pages, banners, widgets, apps, third-party sites, you name it. Every headline, caption, accessibility text, and placement was crafted with care.
